Bert J. Miller


Attorney Brief

Mr. Miller joined Blue Williams as an associate in the Metairie office in 2014, with a focus on medical malpractice defense, healthcare law, and professional liability. He was named partner in 2016.


Mr. Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Louisiana State University in 2006. He graduated cum laude from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2009 earning his Juris Doctorate and Graduate Diploma in Civil Law. During his time at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Mr. Miller served as an active member of the Louisiana Law Review. In his final year, he was selected to serve as the Production Editor on the Board of Editors for Volume 69 of the Louisiana Law Review, editing and approving professional and student articles for publication.


Mr. Miller was admitted to the bar in 2009. After law school, Mr. Miller served as law clerk for the Honorable Chief Justice Catherine D. Kimball of the Louisiana Supreme Court for two years. In his second year with the Chief Justice, he served as her senior law clerk. Mr. Miller clerked for Blue Williams in the summer of his second year of law school, and before rejoining Blue Williams in 2014, he worked as an associate with the Niles, Bourque, and Knight firm in New Orleans where his practice was focused on medical malpractice defense, healthcare law, and professional liability.  Mr. Miller has second chaired multiple bench and jury trials in Louisiana and has extensive Appellate practice experience.

Me. Miller was selected as a “Rising Star” in the field of Healthcare Law by Louisiana Super Lawyers publication in 2019.

Mr. Miller is admitted to practice in all state courts in Louisiana and all federal district courts in Louisiana. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
