Mr. Overby is a partner in the Metairie office and has been with the firm since 2006. His practice consists primarily of business consulting, employment law, estate planning, wills and trusts and taxation planning. He has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association since 1996.
Education
Mr. Overby received his bachelor of arts degree from Louisiana State University in 1990 and his juris doctorate,
cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in 1996. In 2003, he earned his master of laws degree in taxation and certificate in employee benefits law from Georgetown University Law Center.
Narrative
Mr. Overby began practicing law in New Orleans in 1996 and developed considerable experience in the areas of maritime, insurance and business law. To further develop his transactional practice, he continued his legal education at Georgetown University Law Center. Following graduation, he joined the Nashville, Tennessee law firm of Evans, Jones & Reynolds, where he was primarily involved in business transactions, estate planning and administration. Shortly after Katrina he returned home and joined Blue Williams in 2006.
