Samuel “Sam” Juan Andres Saldivar joined Blue Williams in 2021 as an associate in the Houston office. His practice consists primarily of insurance defense and healthcare litigation. He has been a member of the Texas State Bar since 2018.

Education

Mr. Saldivar earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015. He then went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center in 2018. During his time at the Law Center, Mr. Saldivar acted as an editor for the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy, and served as President of the University of Texas at Austin Alumni Organization, the LawHorns.

Narrative

Mr. Saldivar was admitted to the Texas bar in 2018. While attending law school, Mr. Saldivar acted as an editor for the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy, and served as President of the University of Texas at Austin Alumni Organization, the LawHorns. Additionally, he clerked for several firms focusing on insurance and health matters.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Saldivar began his career by joining the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, where he worked in the Civil Medicaid Fraud Division representing the State of Texas in complex litigation involving pharmaceutical off-label marketing and drug misbranding. Sam’s experience in the Civil Medicaid Fraud Division included investigating and pursuing civil fraud on the Medicaid system, primarily against pharmaceutical companies.

Awards

Mr. Saldivar is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient while attending the University of Houston Law Center.

Mr. Saldivar is a member of the Texas State Bar Association as well as the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. He is licensed to practice in all Texas State Courts.
