Carolan D. Luning


Attorney Brief

Ms. Luning joined Blue Williams as an associate in 2018. Her practice consists primarily of employment law, medical malpractice defense, municipal liability, and general casualty litigation.


Ms. Luning earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 2005.  She obtained her law degree in 2014 from the University of Memphis, where she performed over 465 hours of pro bono work in various legal areas and received the Law Student for Justice Pro Bono Award from the Tennessee Supreme Court in 2013.  Ms. Luning also served on the executive board for Phi Alpha Delta and the Student Bar Association.


Ms. Luning was admitted to the bar in 2014. Prior to law school, she was a licensed property and casualty insurance agent and personal lines senior underwriter at Cincinnati Insurance Company.  Before joining Blue Williams, she was a Criminal Justice Act Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and worked as an associate at two New Orleans area law firms, where her practice was focused on a variety of insurance and other civil litigation matters.

Ms. Luning is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Mississippi, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Louisiana, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, and Mississippi Bar Association.
