Amanda M. Plaiscia


Attorney Brief

Ms. Plaiscia is a partner in the Metairie office and joined Blue Williams as an associate in 2015. Her practice consists primarily of labor and employment law, medical malpractice defense, municipal liability, and general casualty litigation.


Ms. Plaiscia graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Orleans in 2009, where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She received her juris doctorate from Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law, graduating magna cum laude. Upon graduation, she was recognized as a William L. Crowe, Sr. Scholar for graduating in the top ten percent of her class. During her time at Loyola, Ms. Plaiscia was a member of the Loyola Law Review and served as a Legal Research and Writing teaching assistant. She received Law Excellence Awards for achieving the highest grades in Legal Research and Writing, Obligations II, Donations & Trusts, and Employment Law.


Ms. Plaiscia was admitted to the bar in 2014. During law school, Ms. Plaiscia clerked for judges in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans and the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal and clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana. She was also a law clerk at Blue Williams in the summer of her second year of law school. Before rejoining Blue Williams, she worked as an associate at a small New Orleans law firm, where her practice was focused on employment, insurance, procurement, and a variety of other civil litigation matters.

Awards and Recognition

Ms. Plaiscia was selected as a “Rising Star” in the field of Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice Defense by Louisiana Super Lawyers publication in 2018 and 2019.

Ms. Plaiscia is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
