Kelly Brian joined Blue Williams as an associate in 2011, focusing on healthcare law, medical malpractice defense, and professional liability. She was named partner in 2019.
Education
Ms. Brian earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing, cum laude, from Louisiana State University. She received her JD from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where she was a Wex S. Malone Scholarship recipient and member of the Wex S. Malone Inns of Court. Ms. Brian also participated in the National Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition in 2006 and led the team as captain in 2007. She remains an assistant coach of the moot court team.
Narrative
Ms. Brian has a varied professional background, giving her unique insight into the legal issues she encounters at Blue Williams. After college, she worked as a development officer for the Tulane Athletics Fund and as an assistant athletic director for the McNeese Athletic Foundation at McNeese State University. During law school, she clerked for several firms in Louisiana, including Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips, and Provosty, Sadler, deLauney, Fiorenza & Sobel, among others. Before arriving at Blue Williams, she worked at Jeansonne & Remondet as an associate attorney.

Bar, Courts & Professional Affiliations
Ms. Brian is admitted to practice in the Western, Middle and Eastern District federal courts and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, as well as in all Louisiana courts. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, 22nd JDC Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section, Women in Law Section, the Defense Research Institute, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel (LADC), and the American Bar Association. She is also the former Co-Chair of the Women in Law Section of the 22nd JDC Bar Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors for LADC.
