We provide our summer associates with a realistic view of the practice of law and culture of the firm. A partner is assigned to oversee the Summer Associate Program, but our summer associates are not limited to working for specific sections. Instead, the clerks are exposed to and work with many attorneys at Blue Williams and handle diverse, challenging assignments across a wide range of practice areas. Our summer associates also experience the day-to-day functions of the firm’s attorneys, including attending depositions, hearings, motions, and trials. The firm sponsors several social functions to provide summer associates with the opportunity to get to know the attorneys of Blue Williams.
Blue Williams hires clerks with strong academic records and high levels of personal achievement. Our Summer Associate Program is divided into two six-week sessions and typically consists of students who have completed their second year of law school. Our recruiting efforts include on-campus interviews in the fall and spring at Louisiana law schools, as well as in-office interviews with students from other law schools around the region.
