Attorney Brief

Erin Boyd is a partner in the Metairie office and has been with the firm since 1991. Her practice consists primarily of occupational disease litigation, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, as well as extensive appellate work. She has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association since 1990.

Education

Ms. Boyd is a native of New Orleans. She received her bachelor of arts degree in English from Louisiana State University, where she was a member of the Dean’s List and “Outstanding Senior” in the College of Arts and Sciences. After LSU, Ms. Boyd returned to New Orleans to attend Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor in 1990. While at Loyola, Ms. Boyd taught Legal Research and Writing as a student faculty member. She was also a member of Alpha Sigma Nu National Legal Honor Society and of the Loyola Law Review, where she served as Case Notes and Comments Editor. Ms. Boyd also attended Tulane University Law School, where she received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Energy and Environment “With Distinction.”

Narrative

Prior to joining Blue Williams, Ms. Boyd worked at the Louisiana Supreme Court as a judicial law clerk for Justice Jack Crozier Watson. As a partner at Blue Williams, Ms. Boyd’s practice includes extensive appellate work, often involving novel questions of law related to asbestos litigation and resulting in numerous reported decisions. In addition to complex tort and asbestos litigation, her other areas of practice include matters relating to corporate organization, operation and dissolution, general casualty, products liability, commercial litigation, construction litigation, and insurance defense of homeowners and commercial general liability claims, with a particular focus on insurance coverage disputes.
