Kristina J. Fonte

Kristina Fonte is of counsel in the Metairie office and joined the firm in 2019. Her practice consists primarily of complex commercial litigation, including tax, trust, estate, and succession litigation. She has also handled cases involving first-party and third-party insurance claims. She represents clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout Louisiana. She has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association since 2007.
Education
Ms. Fonte graduated with honors from the University of New Orleans in 2003, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in economics. In December 2006 she obtained her Juris Doctor from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. During law school, she earned a certificate in international law and studied law in Vienna, Austria.
Narrative
Ms. Fonte began her career handling insurance litigation resulting from Hurricane Katrina providing her with both state and federal court experience. She has also represented WYO Carriers in federal court defending Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Isaac claims. She now handles litigation for families and business and has several years of litigation experience involving minor settlements, trusts, estates, and successions.

Ms. Fonte is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before all Louisiana district and appellate courts as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts. Ms. Fonte has also been granted pro hac vice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, District of New Jersey, and District of Rhode Island.
