Jessie Finley Gensler

Jessie Finley Gensler is an associate in the Metairie office and joined the firm in December 2022. Her practice consists of primarily of insurance defense, commercial automobile and trucking, property and casualty litigation, and medical malpractice.

Education

Mrs. Gensler grew up in Belle Chasse, Louisiana and graduated from Belle Chasse High School. She then attended Louisiana State University, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in sociology and minor in communication studies. Mrs. Gensler attended LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center where she received her Juris Doctorate and a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law. While at LSU Law, Mrs. Gensler was inducted to the Order of the Barristers, a national organization recognizing oral advocacy and brief writing. She also competed in the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition where she won best overall brief in 2016. While in law school, Mrs. Gensler was a member of the ABA Labor and Employment Trial Advocacy Team and Admiralty Moot Court Team. As an Admiralty Moot Court Team member Mrs. Gensler and her teammates won best overall brief in 2017 and 2018 in the John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition and won first place in the John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition in 2018. Mrs. Gensler also organized and ran the LSU Law Tailgate Club for two years.

Narrative

Mrs. Gensler was admitted to the Bar in 2018. While in law school, Mrs. Gensler was sworn in under Louisiana Supreme Court Rule XX as a Special Assistant District Attorney and interned at the District Attorney’s Office for the 19th Judicial District Court for East Baton Rouge Parish. She also clerked in house for State Farm. Prior to joining Blue Williams, Mrs. Gensler worked in private practice in the New Orleans area where she practiced maritime law, insurance defense, and property and casualty litigation.
