Mr. LaCour is a partner in the Metairie office. He is certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization as an Estate Planning and Administration Specialist. His practice consists of estate planning (wills, successions, and trusts), corporate governance, business succession planning, contractual drafting and negotiations, mergers & acquisitions, private offerings, fiduciary litigation (succession litigation, trust litigation, shareholder/officer/director litigation), and commercial litigation.  He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts.

Education

Mr. LaCour received his Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Rhetoric and in Classics, with a concentration in Latin, from the University of Virginia in 1992.  He was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1995.

Narrative

Mr. LaCour focuses on estate planning (wills, successions, and trusts), private offerings, corporate governance, business transactions, fiduciary litigation, and commercial litigation.  He draws from twenty-five (25) years of litigation experience as he provides advice both to fiduciaries and to business owners.  He acts as general counsel to many companies, providing various services which include the drafting of entity formation documents, operating agreements, bylaws, buy-sell agreements, non-competition agreements, leases, stock and asset purchase agreements, employment contracts, minutes of meetings, resolutions, and various contracts.  Mr. LaCour also provides dispute resolution and litigation services in contested succession matters, trust matters and shareholder/member matters. Mr. LaCour was born and raised in New Orleans. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Catholic Community Foundation for the Archdiocese of New Orleans since 2013. He has served as an officer for the Catholic Community Foundation since 2018, having held the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice-President. He also served on Jesuit High School’s Athletic Board from 2013-2020 and held the office of President of the Athletic Board from 2018-2020. He served as a Campaign Cabinet Member for the Priestly Formation Campaign for Notre Dame Seminary of New Orleans in 2011-2012.  He also served as Chairman of the Stewardship Committee for St. Clement of Rome Parish from 2011-2015.
