Mrs. Matheny is a New Orleans native. She graduated from Metairie Park Country Day School then earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish with a minor in Sociology from Louisiana State University. She attended the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and graduated with a Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law.
Narrative
Mrs. Matheny primarily practices in the areas of insurance defense, property and casualty litigation. After graduating from law school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable James J. Brady, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Louisiana. Mrs. Matheny is a former prosecutor for the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, where served as a senior trial attorney, sitting first chair for the State of Louisiana for non-capital felony cases. Before joining Blue Williams, she worked as an associate at a small New Orleans law firm, where her practice was focused on insurance, construction, and a variety of other civil litigation matters.

Mrs. Matheny is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Louisiana. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Louisiana Claims Association and the New Orleans Claims Association. Mrs. Matheny serves as a member of the Pro Bono Project’s Justice for All Ball Committee and the American Cancer Society’s Shuck Cancer Junior Executive Board.
