Attorney Brief

Mr. Palermo joined the firm as a partner in 2013. His practice consists primarily of civil litigation, including products liability, environmental, admiralty, and insurance matters.

Education

Mr. Palermo received his bachelor of science degree from Louisiana State University in 1985 and his juris doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in 1989. While at Loyola, he was a member of the Loyola Law Review.

Narrative

With litigation experience in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana and Mississippi, Mr. Palermo has represented product manufacturers, premises owners, maritime interests, and insurers in defense of personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage claims. Mr. Palermo has served as a guest lecturer for the Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Claims Association and several other organizations and businesses on a variety of insurance, marine and environmental topics, including the Louisiana Insurance Code, Excess Insurance, Toxic Torts, Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and Marine Insurance.

Mr. Palermo is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western District of Louisiana, the Supreme Court of Louisiana, the Supreme Court of Texas,  and the Supreme Court of Mississippi. He also carries the AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell®.
