Attorney Brief

Mr. Pope is a partner in the Metairie office and has been with the firm since 2006. His practice consists primarily of personal and commercial property and casualty litigation, federal and state workers’ compensation and insurance law. He has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association since 1998.

Education

Mr. Pope attended Louisiana State University, where he earned his bachelor of arts degrees in English and history in 1995. While attending LSU, he was a member of the Honors College and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa society. He received his juris doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at LSU in 1998.

Narrative

After graduating from law school, Mr. Pope clerked on the general civil staff of the Third Circuit Court of Appeal in Lake Charles, Louisiana. There, he was primarily responsible for civil writ applications. After leaving the Third Circuit, he moved to Baton Rouge where he took a position as in-house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. While acting as in-house counsel, he handled personal and commercial liability, products liability and workers’ compensation cases; he was also designated as the high-expense management attorney for the state, responsible for advising his client regarding high-exposure medical claims pending in the state. He has tried cases in various courts throughout the state.

Bar, Courts & Professional Affiliations

Mr. Pope is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana. In addition, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern and Middle Districts of Louisiana, as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
