Nelson A. Remels

Nelson Remels joined Blue Williams in 2023 as an associate with the Houston office. Nelson reverently advocates for his clients, from the boardroom and the courtroom, on disputes ranging from personal injuries, DTPA liability, intentional torts and insurance coverage matters. His legal practice includes insurance defense, property and casualty litigation, business disputes and advisory work for carriers and corporations.

Education

Mr. Remels graduated Magna Cum Laude with his B.A. in Policitical Science from St. Edward’s University. Thereafter, he achieved his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.

Narrative

Nelson Remels was born and raised in Houston, Texas and earned a B.A. in Political Science from St. Edward’s University in 2016. After graduation, Mr. Remels attended Southern Methodist University, where he graduated from in 2020 with his J.D.

During law school, Mr. Remels clerked at several civil litigation firms, and excelled as a mock trial finalist in Southern Methodist’s Advocacy Program. Upon being admitted the Texas Bar in 2021, Mr. Remels litigated construction defects, business disputes, and provided healthcare advocacy for hospitals and freestanding medical providers. Mr. Remels’ current focus is on cataclysmic personal injury litigation and first party insurance claims.

Community Involvement

Mr. Remels engages with members of the Houston Hispanic Bar Association, and he enjoys contributing as a member and volunteer for Memorial Park Conservancy fundraising projects. Mr. Remels now serves on the Houston Congregation Emanu-El Vote Steering Committee.
