Narrative

Jessie represents clients in claims arising from commercial vehicle accidents, alleged medical negligence, property losses, premises incidents, and other casualty events. She recognizes that serious claims require early attention to physical evidence, electronic data, witness testimony, medical records, and the client’s own policies and procedures.

Her transportation practice includes cases involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, driver conduct, alleged impairment, punitive-damages claims, and disputed medical causation. Jessie works with drivers, company representatives, insurers, accident-reconstruction professionals, medical experts, and other specialists to build a clear understanding of the evidence and develop a defense tailored to the client’s objectives.

Jessie also represents healthcare providers in medical-malpractice litigation. She assists clients in evaluating the applicable standard of care, understanding complex medical records, coordinating expert review, and presenting technical information clearly to judges and juries.

Before joining Blue Williams in 2022, Jessie practiced maritime law, insurance defense, and property and casualty litigation in the New Orleans area. Her earlier maritime experience gives her additional familiarity with vessel operations, marine claims, and the federal procedural issues that can arise in Gulf Coast litigation

Complete defense verdict in $69 million wrongful-death claim

Jessie and partner Jacob Best represented the defendant in a seven-day Allen Parish jury trial arising from a fatal, high-speed commercial motor-vehicle accident. The plaintiffs sought compensatory and punitive damages and alleged that the defendant driver was intoxicated through the use of prescription psychiatric medication.

Although the plaintiffs requested $69 million during closing arguments, the jury found no liability on the part of the client and returned a defense verdict. Associate Jamison Beuerman assisted during the trial. Read the case announcement
