Robert Baudouin Successfully Defends Surgeon in Trial

Congratulations to Robert Baudouin, a partner in the Metairie office, who successfully defended a general surgeon in his first case tried with full Covid restrictions. The case involved the alleged wrongful death of a 9-month-old boy with chronic asthma who swallowed a penny which became lodged in the child’s esophagus compromising the child’s airway. After the coin was surgically removed, the child went into bronchospasm and could not be resuscitated. After a bench trial involving four expert witnesses, the court concluded that the surgeon’s decision to remove the coin surgically met the standard of care. #medicalmalpracticelawyer #Congratulations #benchtrial
